Tara Thiel (Wood Buffalo)

I am separating from my common law partner. I co-signed a loan for my partner. Loan term isn't up for another 5 years. Is there a way to remove my name as a co-signor for that loan.

Hi Tara,

You should check with the lender first to see if it's possible and what their requirements are to remove yourself from the loan.

If they end up asking you to sign a separation agreement with legal advice, please contact a lawyer directly through the Search to seek assistance with your matter.
